The CLA report: what counts in TBC Classic
The gear checks, the flask, elixir, food and weapon buffs, the drums and their Tinnitus, and the trash minimums per raid that Logbreakdown checks on a TBC Classic night.
CLA is short for Combat Log Analytics, the spreadsheet TBC raid leads filled in by hand from Warcraft Logs after every night: who had a flask, whose gear was not enchanted, who skipped drums. Logbreakdown computes the same sheet from the combat log file, for every boss pull of the night, in the seconds after the upload.
Gear checks
The Gear tab lists everyone who fails one of these. PvP gear, vs-undead weapons and Kael weapons are judged per boss, so those keep the boss name in the verdict.
| Check | What it means |
|---|---|
| No enchant | A slot that should carry an enchant does not. Red. |
| Cheap enchant | An enchant, but one from the list of cheap or wrong ones. Yellow. |
| Empty socket | A gem slot with nothing in it. Yellow. |
| Uncut gem | A gem from the list of ones that do not belong in raid gear. Red. |
| Melee-hit / spell-hit gem | A hit-rating gem meant for the other role. Red. |
| Empty slot | Nothing was equipped there. Red. |
| PvP gear | PvP gear on a boss that does not call for it. A few encounters allow it. Red. |
| Excluded item | An item from the list of things that do not belong in a raid. Red. |
| Riding, slowfall, engineering | Worn into a boss. Red. |
| Cheap item | An item the team marked cheap. Yellow, with cheap enchants and empty sockets. |
| Cheap oil | A weapon oil or stone that is the cheap version, or one the class gets little from: wizard oil on a warrior, mana oil on a rogue. Yellow. |
| Wrong oil | A hit oil or stone of the wrong kind for the class. Yellow. |
A cheap enchant, cheap gear, a cheap or wrong oil, or an empty socket is the nudge. Character pages count the same split: flagged items are the talk, nudges are the rest. Everything else is the talk. A team can move any item or enchant between those lists in its own rules, and on a night with more than one raid every problem is listed per raid, so a rule that allows something in one instance only applies there.
Resistance. On the bosses that call for it the Gear tab adds a block with each raider's resistance at the pull in the school the fight needs: gear (items, enchants, gems) and buffs added up, yellow under the guide value. Shadow on Mother Shahraz and Illidan, fire for the raiders who tanked Illidan's Flames of Azzinoth, nature and frost for the tanks on Hydross. Each Hydross tank needs one of those two, so a tank who is at the guide in nature is not yellow in the frost block. Mark of the Wild and resistance totems are not counted. It is a snapshot at the pull, not a check of the fight.
See the Gear tab on the sample report.
Consumables at the pull
The At pull sheet has these columns in TBC. Each is the share of the selected boss pulls where the buff was up the moment the encounter started; red under 50%, yellow under 80%.
| Flask or both | A flask, or a battle elixir together with a guardian elixir. |
| Battle, Guardian | The two elixir slots on their own. |
| Food | A well-fed buff. |
| Weapon | An oil, sharpening stone or weightstone on the weapon. |
| Scrolls | Scrolls of Agility, Strength and the rest. Named when the row is opened. |
| Cheap buffs | Buffs that count, but were the cheaper version. Named, in red, so the raider knows what to swap. |
| Dropped | Buffs that were up at the pull, ended during it (death or expiry) and were not put back while the raider was alive. Opened, the row says which pull and which buff. |
| Shadow protection potion, Prayer of Shadow Protection, Fire protection potion, Nature or frost protection potion | Only on the bosses that call for them: Mother Shahraz, Illidan, Archimonde and Hydross (nature or frost protection potion for the tanks). A potion counts if it was drunk in the pull or up to fifteen seconds before it; the prayer counts if it was up at the pull. A raid team can switch a check off under its rules. |
The second and third sheets under Consumables, In combat and Graph, are RPB: the potions, the shared two-minute cooldown and the whole-night Missed pots and Open (s).

Drums
Leatherworkers carry Drums of Battle, War and Restoration, and a party only gets the most out of them when the drummers take turns. The tab lists every drummer with the drums cast of each kind in the selected fights, the average number of raid members each cast reached (five is a full party), and Buffs landed, which adds those up. Each drummer's row now also shows the group the drums reached (the fullest party one of the drummer's casts landed on in the selected fights, so a drummer who moved groups shows the group where the drums landed best), drums per pull, the mean gap between drums (about two minutes is one per cooldown), and drums cast while the drummer's own Tinnitus was still up. Two drummers whose drums reached each other, in either direction, are both marked red: with Tinnitus only one drum per two minutes can land. Tinnitus counts the debuff a drum leaves behind for two minutes, during which no other drum can land. Speed and Panic columns appear when anyone used those drums. Drum rows on Casts use the same numbers.
What the tab is not: drum uptime for the raid, and not a count of who should have been drumming. It only sees the leatherworkers who cast, and judges how well each cast landed.
Heroism
Heroism and Bloodlust are raid-wide in Anniversary and leave a ten-minute debuff that resets on every kill or wipe, so the question is not who got it but whether it was cast on every boss, when, and what lined up with it. The table above the drummers lists each pull: seconds into the pull, who cast it, how many shamans pressed it (more than one is wasted), and how many damage dealers had a potion, a drum and an on-use trinket inside its forty seconds. Pulls are listed in the order they happened. #n counts every pull of that boss in the log, so a kill after seven wipes is #8 on Boss kills too, and the same number as on Deaths and Buffs.
See the Drums tab on the sample report.
Group buffs in TBC
TBC groups live or die on a handful of party auras. The tab infers the group from who shared the same caster, then scores each raider against the buffs their role expects.
| Buff | Giver | Who it is for | How it is measured |
|---|---|---|---|
| Leader of the Pack | Feral druid | Physical, tanks | Aura uptime, and whether it was up at the pull |
| Unleashed Rage | Enhancement shaman | Physical, tanks | Aura uptime (a 10 s proc) |
| Ferocious Inspiration | Beast Mastery hunter (the pet) | Physical, tanks, casters | Aura uptime; the giver named is the hunter, not the pet |
| Sanctity Aura | Retribution paladin | Physical, tanks | Aura uptime and at pull. Improved Sanctity is not in the log |
| Trueshot Aura | Marksmanship hunter | Physical, tanks | Aura. Not yet seen from a player in our logs |
| Moonkin Aura | Balance druid | Casters, healers | Aura. Not yet seen in our logs |
| Windfury Totem | Shaman | Physical, tanks | A shaman in the group had it down. Twisting closes the totem object in ~1 s, so that share is not judged red; Windfury Attack procs are the proof it reached them. Hunters are skipped |
| Grace of Air Totem | Shaman | Physical, tanks | A shaman in the group had it down. Twisting closes the totem object in ~1 s, so that share is not judged red; Windfury Attack procs are the proof it reached them |
| Wrath of Air Totem | Shaman | Casters, healers | A shaman in the group had it down |
| Totem of Wrath | Elemental shaman | Casters | A shaman in the group had it down |
| Mana Spring Totem | Shaman | Casters, healers | Share of fight time the totem ticked mana on the raider. On logs parsed before energize ticks were kept: a shaman in the group had it down |
| Vampiric Touch | Shadow priest | Casters, healers | Mana per minute from the priest's shadow damage. No colour; it says which group had the priest |
What the log does not see: totem buffs on raid members (the client never writes them as auras) and the Improved Sanctity talent. Totem columns other than Mana Spring are therefore “the shaman had it down”, not that you stood in range, averaged only over pulls where the raider’s group is known, and a totem that dies to AoE can still count as down. Groups with no party aura, no Mana Spring and no shadow priest stay unknown and are not scored as missing the buffs. A group that changed members mid-fight is unknown on that pull.
See the Group buffs tab on the sample report.
Trash
The old CLA sheets asked for trash kill counts to prove a full clear: so many Spell Shades in Karazhan, so many Ghouls in Hyjal. Logbreakdown counts the kills of every named trash pack against the minimum for Karazhan, Serpentshrine Cavern, Tempest Keep, Hyjal, Black Temple, Zul'Aman and Sunwell. On a whole night with more than one of those, each raid is listed with its own boss-kill count. The tab shows a tick when every minimum is met, otherwise how many are not. Gruul's and Magtheridon's lairs have no trash requirement, so they do not appear.
This tab is kill counts per raid against a minimum, not the Trash only scope, and it is greyed on one boss since the minimums are per raid. A link ending #trash opens this tab; the trash scope is #scope=trash or #combat&scope=trash.
